French and EnglishThe first year is structured around a L3 LLCER* program in specialized English, offered in collaboration with Université Paris-Cité (Department of English Studies and EILA Department).
The first year of study in the English Department at ENS Paris-Saclay allows students to acquire the fundamental skills of an English scholar (translation, linguistics, civilization, literature), while supplementing this curriculum with disciplines such as specialized English and terminology. A demanding, high-level program, it constitutes the first step in a four-year course of study, which may include preparing for the English agrégation exam.
Full of new discoveries, the first year of study also offers an opportunity to explore disciplines other than English and to participate in activities outside the department, particularly through interdisciplinary activities offered as part of the school’s diploma program (cognitive sciences, history of science, environmental issues, etc.).
