Preparing for the ENS Paris-Saclay Degree
Admission through competitive examinations (written and oral)
Individuals recruited through this process are students at the École Normale Supérieure and hold the status of probationary civil servants. They prepare for the ENS diploma and receive a salary during the four years of their program.
In the first year: via the first-year competitive exams (CPGE), BEL track (Literary Exam Pool), equivalent to the third year of a bachelor’s degree (L3) or equivalent.
Admission based on application materials and an interview
Students admitted through this route follow the same curriculum as those who passed the competitive exams and hold the status of “normaliens” or “normaliennes.” Those admitted in the first year (L3) at the start of the 2026 academic year will become EvidENS grant recipients during the four years of their program.
- First year (L3): 10 positions in total, with a specific track for CPGE students and a non-CPGE track. See the application guidelines (dates, required documents).
- Second year (M1) : 3 positions for students in L3 LLCER or equivalent. See the application guidelines (dates, required documents).
